About Me

As a UX designer currently working in healthcare scheduling, billing, and insurance, my goal is to help people understand their digital workspaces and complete their complex workflows effectively. I’ve also been making existing interfaces accessible for users who rely on screen readers and keyboard-only screen navigation. People say that I am a great collaborator, ask clarifying questions, and grasp new problem spaces quickly so that I am able to help other designers and researchers on-board as well.

My design process starts with understanding the main elements of a problem space, workflows, requirements, and user motivations. I use what I’ve learned to inform decisions throughout the project, such as when wireframing out several concepts, or presenting ideas to stakeholders. I love UX and user research because you get to collaborate with a wide variety people, and integrate your learning into designs that help people. Although creating products for healthcare administrative functions isn’t a glamorous problem space, I enjoy untangling the complexity and I am proud to support these users in accomplishing their daily work.

My first name is Carol although I like to go by “Han” at work. My degrees are in Art History and Industrial Design. When not UXing, I’m taking care of my family, and I love throwing pottery on the wheel, birdwatching, and admiring boats, especially wooden boats.
